TRAINED BY DISCIPLINE IN HARDSHIP
Men are created to do hard things – to get our hands dirty, to sweat, to suffer, and to overcome. And while the natural masculine instinct is there, it must be kindled and cared for – it must be initiated – before it bears fruit. While modern society shakes an angry fist at the virtues of masculinity, a generation of men struggle to find a path forward. As men with an appreciation of the value of industry, we now raise our sons in a culture that despises masculinity, heterosexuality and the family. Telling stories of the great men who came before us is one way that we can fan the flame of masculinity in the generations to come.
Duty. Responsibility. Endurance.
Men are created with a purpose in life. It’s not the purpose that we were taught – the meaningless objects that we see our friends and neighbors pursue. Our real purpose isn’t object-focused but rather subject-focused. As men, we are instructed by our creator to lead, to take domain and bring order out of chaos, to endure hardship as we persevere. Our purpose is to develop character which manifests itself in virtue and results in praise to the God who created us.
